Matching
The matching screen is where you make sure the right products are adviced based on the answers given by your users.
Overview
See which answers your products are matched to. Use the search bar to find a specific product and it's matching answers.
Data matching
Easily bulk match your products to answers. Select a question in the left column and add matching rules to the answers.
Rules
With rules you can easily bulk-match products in your feed with answers. For every answer in your flow you can add rules that determine which products should be advised when that answer is chosen.
When editing rules, you can see how many items are matching the matching items by clicking "view items" to evaluate the matched products.
AND/OR conjunctions
When adding multiple rules you can choose to:
- Use the AND conjunction by selecting "IF BOTH": All rules need to pass in order to match.
- Use the OR conjunction by selecting "IF EITHER": One of the rules pass in order to match.
Groups
Say we have an answer where we want to match all shirts with the size M and all polo's with the size L. You can do this by putting AND/OR conjunctions and rules in groups, like this:
- IF EITHER
- BOTH [Group]
- Size equals M
- AND Type equals Shirt
- OR BOTH [Group]
- Size equals L
- AND Type equals Polo
- BOTH [Group]
Rule sets
Rule sets allow you to give greater importance (by using "weights") to specific rules for the same answer. More on that below.
Weights
Weights are used to give greater importance to specific questions or rule sets in the advice compared to others.
Question weight example
Say you're selling cargo bikes and you have a selling guide that contains the following questions:
- Do you want electrical support?
- What brand do you prefer?
In our case, question one is a "requirement" to show a relevant product recommendation while question two is a "preferation". Therefore, we give question one a weight of 2 and question two a weight 0.5. Products which now only match question one, will get a higher relevance score than products which only match question two.
Rule set weight example
Say you're selling shoes that are "Great" for hiking and shoes that are "Decent" for hiking, and you have a question "Do you need the shoes for hiking?" with the answers "Yes" and "No".
When the answer "Yes" is given, you still want to match the "Decent" hiking shoes but you want to give the "Great" hiking shoes a higher score. To do this, you can create two "rule sets" under an answer an give the rule set matching the "Great" hiking shoes a weight of 2 and the "Decent" rule set a weight of 0.5.
Match boosting
With match boosting, you can create boosters based on rules that boost the relevance score of the products that match these rules. For example, this allows you to boost specific brands, products with high stock values, best selling items, higher margin products etc.
Simply create rules to match the products you want to match and enter a boost percentage.
Match testing
The match testing screen can be used to quickly check how your products are matching with your answers. In the overview you can also see exactly how your matches are scoring based on matches, weights and boosts.
