About us

We are a Dutch company born out of frustration with the way e-commerce works today. Over the past few years, we started noticing a pattern. In every family or circle of friends, there are experts. One person might be good at gardening, another with cars, and then there's the "computer person." That’s where we came in.

Why Qonfi was created

Every time someone needed a laptop, we were called in to help. Together with that person, we’d visit a webshop that sold laptops and ask them the same questions: "What do you want to use the laptop for?" "What’s your budget?" "Do you also want to be able to game on it?" Based on the answers to these questions, we would select the right product filters in the product overview and eventually find a laptop that perfectly matched the person’s needs.

Naturally (as software developers), after a while, a light bulb went off: how can we automate this repetitive task? That’s why we developed Qonfi, so visitors can automatically receive the best advice tailored to their unique needs.

Essentially, what we were doing was translating the person’s desires into complex product specifications.

We tell this story often - but video's say more than words. During the Webwinkel Vakdagen (the largest e-commerce event in the Benelux), we shared our story live with hundreds of visitors. We were allowed to tell how Betersport converts visitors with guided selling.

The frustrations with online shopping

The example above fits into the trend and growing frustration with online shopping. Due to technological developments and rapidly changing customer demand, the online product range is expanding, and products are becoming more complex. These trends lead to increased uncertainty when choosing a product, making it harder to buy the right product. This results in fewer sales, more product returns, and increased customer contact.

The question we started asking ourselves was, "How can we ensure that people receive the right product advice online right away?"

In e-commerce, we forget that customers are not product experts. More than 90% don’t know exactly which product suits them best. Why don’t we give them advice, just like in the store?

In e-commerce, we need to go back to basics and focus on the unique needs of the visitor. So, understand what the visitor wants to use the product for and understand their problem. Only when we understand this can we help the visitor further and provide the right advice.

With Qonfi, we strive to make e-commerce more accessible again by offering personalized advice. That’s why we created software that allows any website to provide its visitors with the best product advice online, tailored to the visitor’s needs. Just like in a store.
